It is August, one of the three only summer months in Denmark, which means it is festival time! Whether you’re thinking about trying out the festival society or just want to add one more to the list, then don’t worry – we definitely have one more to recommend.
On 17th August another festival will be on the menu in the summer heat, this time in urban environments. At 12.00 in Rådhusparken, Culture Works will represent the urban-festival SOMMER.CHILLOUT.AARHUS for the fifth time. Since the first edition it has only become bigger and better which can be confirmed by 6000 visitors from the 2012 edition. Also on the musical site the festival has gone from a chill-out event with DJs to a free one-day festival with upcoming talents.
Worth to mention is inter alia the thirty-year-old rapper Marvelous Mosell who will be standing on a stage in Aarhus for the first time in his career. He grew up on Frederiksberg in Copenhagen where he began rapping at the age of only fifteen. Later on then started creating storytelling rap using creating music videos and also performing his art live from time to time.
Marvelous Mossel is just one of many talented musicians that are to be found at the site. Besides him, Culture Works has managed to gather a great lineup of really potential talents. Among other things you will be able to experience artists like Tue Track, Dream Koala, Marvelous Mosell, Sekuoia, Billow, Rita Blue, Baba Ganoush and Vivi.
Beside the music you will also be able to relax in the sun (hopefully), meet other people from the local youth society and last but not least enjoy lots of summer activities as Ping-Pong, Frisbee etc. Cold beers can be bought at the bar, which supports a great purpose – to make the festival even better next year!
The festival should end at 8 pm – but is far from over. The party continues straight after at Bar 15 where the arrangement SOMMER.CHILLOUT.AARHUS.EFTERFESTEN: BAR 15 X GUILTY PLEASURE will be hosted.
Why miss this great festival? We won’t for sure. See you there!
