Occasionally, I find myself sitting for hours trawling through Soundcloud artists, magazines, and blog posts to find new exciting bands and artists. Last week I did exactly that again, but suddenly I had to stop my fishing technique. It seemed as if I had finally caught a big one.
Let me introduce you to HEY WAY; a new Odense-based dream-pop-going-noisy-alternative duo founded by Søren Corneliussen and Hasse Mydtskov, both with roots in Kissaway Trail. With their new duo constellation, they have found a melancholic and floating indie-path, that still allows them to be noisy and lo-fi in its expression. It is the golden balance between massive stadiums and small garages.
As far as I have heard, based on medical evidence that is YET to be discovered, there is a direct correlation between how many types you hear HEY WAY’s tracks and your state of well-being; between the amount of replays of HEY WAY’s tracks and how much you look forward to summer months and late evenings at the beach.
Even though the music is slow-tempo and melancholic, the path to international recognition could very well be straightforward and fast phase for this new duo. Sign them if you can. Book them to an Aarhus venue for God’s sake. Check out their tracks below.
