This Friday 8 chosen bands will compete in this years Gymnasiespot – the winner gets career relevant prizes.
Once again it’s time to promote an event that puts an effort in giving upcoming bands a chance to stand on a bigger stage, a chance to play in front of a bigger crowd, and get them a step closer to their dream. The Danish upcoming scene has a lot of potential, and it is extremely talented, but the bands in this category still need people that make a difference.
The event making team at Nørgaards Højskole has been arranging Gymnasiespot since 2009 with the good people at SPOT Festival. The idea about this concept is to put focus on young talented musicians primarily from the middle and eastern part of Jutland. It’s all about helping them to develop and so far it has been a great success.
It is a night with nothing but good music – 8 bands compete against each other, and at the end of the night a jury will decide who takes the prize. The prize, by the way, is a paid job at V58, professional career advice and equipment. Not bad!
There will also be prizes for those who end up second or third, and there will be an audience award – so turn up and support those you feel deserve it!
This year’s 8 bands are:
– 16.00 – Alpaca (Aarhus) – LINKED ABOVE
– 16.40 – Eirene (Ringkøbing)
– 17.20 – Under the Sheets (Horsens)
– 18.00 – Tavs Viden (Silkeborg)
– 18.40 – Bordeaux (Aarhus)
– 19.20 – Chasing Greenlights (Vejle)
– 20.00 – Karma Deluxe (Aarhus)
– 20.40 – Støjzonen (Randers)
The headlining act, and of course not competing, are the very talented and hyped guys from Kaliber, and to finish it all DJ Darius Vaikas will play at the afterparty.
Stop by this Friday at Atlas and support the young talented bands and the people who make a difference for the Danish upcoming scene. They deserve it!
