Mondays are usually spent on tryin’ to get past being hung over, talking about the weekend or simply just gettin’ through the day. By now, we’ve reached that time of the week where it’s time to start plannin’ the weekend coming up – and that’s where we come in.
Once again, we’ve had a look at the concerts in Aarhus this week, and we’ve tried to pick out the very best, just for you guys! Now, given that the concert is sold out, we had to go without The Tallest Man On Earth, but there’s still plenty of opportunities for those of us who didn’t manage to buy a ticket in time. Here’s a few of ‘em:
Samba is inspired by all sorts of genre; everything from Serge Gainsbourg to Bo Didley to traditional Malian music, but mostly, he is known for passing on the blues legacy from legendary Ali Farka Touré. Give it a listen, and I’m sure you’ll at least consider going to the concert.
So, there’s a couple of great places to be this Friday, depending on what kind of gigs you prefer. One of them is with Slovenian superstar Gramatik, performing at VoxHall. Denis Jasarevic, his actual name, has released 9 albums since 2008 as Gramatik, and that has given him quite a few fans. Nearly 500,000 people are following him on Facebook, right now. Hip hop, glitch, electro, and dubstep coming right up!
Also coming up this Friday is the opening day of Aarhus Psych Fest, one of our favourite events in Aarhus. We’re madly in love with this festival, and we’re glad that they’ve, once again, managed to put together this incredible line up. The festival will take place Friday and Saturday at Radar!
When Aarhus Psych Fest kicks you out from Radar, as the festival reaches an end, you don’t have to go home. Actually, we highly recommend you to stay at Godsbanen and visit Double Rainbow Saturday night. Six hours of Deep House, Tech House, Techno, and UK Vibes is on the menu, and Shaq, ELOQ and Emil Lange will be delivering.
If you are more fond of chill vibes after all the psych music, we recommend you to head to Café Pustevig. Here the newcomers from She will host their EP release in Cafe Pustevig‘s basement. We are talking welcome drinks, so expect a cozy environment, fashionable clothing, and man-buns. After the release of their EP, DJ Stuf will take over and treat your ears with electronic tunes.
