Go Go Berlin have just launched a music video for ´Kids´ from their newest album ‘Electric Lives’. The new album has given the band a couple of nominations to different “Band of the year/album of the year” type awards and is a success in my eyes. The band from Aarhus is currently on tour around Denmark but found time enough to release a music video.
The ‘Kids’ music video is directed by Thor Hampus Bank and produced by GotFat Productions. The video consists of two major elements, the shots of the band playing and the various shots from a buttload of different sources. The various shots represent what is going on in the song at the time, and have been added some funky colouring etc.
Most of the colours are slightly melancholic, and many of the images are actually quite dramatic and tragic. Along with the shout-outs to revolution, there are images of war, and the video ends with an atomic explosion. The combination of the upbeat music and the strong images create a unique mood. In my mind, the music definitely prevails and dampens the dramatic effect of the imagery. Maybe to say that we are all just kids.
The video serves to deliver an uncompromising indie rock hit and is characterized by Go Go Berlin´s free and playful expression. Check it out!
