You know him already, we all do. Actually, most enthusiasts focusing on the Danish music scene have been following this guy closely the last couple of years. Closely as in fanatically.
You just know him as Mikkel Holm Silkjær, front figure in Yung – but also member of bands such as Tears, Brooch and Happy Hookers for Jesus. Oh yes, quite the productive guy who’s putting Aarhus on the map these days.
This Saturday, he’ll perform a 30-minute set at Mikkeller Bar in Aarhus under the name ‘Holm’. This is his solo-project, and under this name, he’ll soon release a self-titled EP containing four tracks, and we can’t wait to hear it! Instead of waiting, thought, why not just stop by Jægergaardsgade and give it a listen, huh?
Now, the reason why there’s suddenly a “mini-concert” at Mikkeller is, that this lovely brewery has joined forces with ‘Fonden VoxHall (which is both Atlas and VoxHall), and from spring next year, you’ll be able to enjoy a brand new Mikkeller-beer at the two venues.
And it’s the year of new initiatives at Fonden VoxHall, who earlier announced that they’d gone ‘green’; with solar cells, beehives, and organic beer in the bar – which is something we can only support. Going to a concert can be more than “just” the music, as long as the music is still given first priority – and I’m pretty sure they can live up to that at these two venues, considering their love of good music.
In addition to Mikkel’s solo project, the blooming punkers from local Yung have also announced three forthcoming gigs, namely: Loppen, Copenhagen (26.01.2017); Tape, Aarhus (27.01.2017); Northern Winter Beat, 1000Fryd, Aalborg (28.01.2017).
