Yes, there’s a new festival every other a week, and yes, it is difficult finding the money to go to all of them. But luckily, if you dig a little deeper in your “what does Facebook tell me that Aarhus has to offer”-part of your calendar, you’ll find plenty of quality underground stuff.
In the case of Frichstival, it’s more the location that seems “underground”, whereas the line-up itself includes some of our favorites from the Danish upcoming scene. This Saturday, you can walk past ‘Åhusene’, look to your right, and you’ll find Frichstival; located at the heart of Verner Bryder A/S, one of Aarhus’ hidden treasures.
At the festival, you can witness The New Family, who conquered SPOT Festival a couple of weekends ago, and J. Bruno, also a part of The New Family, will do a solo show as well. The same goes for Stine Drejer, who’s playing both as Valmai and in Moon Loves Honey – last mentioned has got a new single out, and given that they’re in the studio lately, they might bring brand new material to the show. At Frichstival, you can also experience Mathias Winther, who also played SPOT Festival and has been enjoying airplay on P3, and Sara Flindt, known from Sant, performing, with band, under the alias Zaar. What a line-up! But wait, there’s more…
The beers are free, with an option to make a bar donation, and the same goes for the entrance; it’s sort of a pay-what-you-want deal, but keep in mind, that the money, that you eventually decide to give, will be used to create yet another Frichstival.
