Ah yes, we’re ready for a new round of Fatter Eskil Prisen, and once again, we’ve been asked to be a part of it.
At the last edition, a jury including Thomas Lassen (Skandinavian), Rasmus Bredvig (Tapetown), Steffan Lykke Møller (SPOT), John Fogde (NorthSide) and our very own Asbjørn Lyhne decided to name the local band PALA the winner of Fatter Eskil Prisen 2016, which meant taking home the grand prize of 25,000 DKK from TAK ROCK! and a gig at next year’s SPOT Festival. Not bad, huh?
The year before that, Northern Assembly left the stage as winners and ended up impressing each and everyone who attended their concert at SPOT Festival. More on that HERE.
It seems that FEP is getting bigger and bigger for each year, and to the 2017 edition, the collaboration with SPOT has gotten bigger. That’s right: In 2017, Fatter Eskil Prisen will host their semi-finals during (and as an official part of) SPOT Festival. That means, that if you’re among the 16 ‘chosen ones’, and you end up as a contestant in the semi-finals, you will actually be playing at SPOT Festival.
And sure, the winner will, once again, take home 25,000 DKK from Tak Rock!, the winner will be offered a slot at SPOT Festival 2018, and the winner will be offered a recording of a single at Tapetown here in Aarhus. Sounds good, huh?
The first round takes place on the first four Wednesdays in March, whereas the semi-finals takes place during SPOT Festival in May – and, as usual, the final takes place during Aarhus Festuge! This extravaganza is sponsored by and happens in collaboration with SPOT Festival, Tak Rock!, Royal Beer, Tapetown, Sound of Aarhus, and DMF.
The round of applications begins as of today, with a deadline on the 15th of January 2017. Apply HERE – all genres are welcome, and so are bands from all over this country.
