Could your band use some recording-money? And are you dreaming of playing at the prestigious LiveCamp 2018? The answer to both questions is a roaring ’obviously’, and playing at Fatter Eskil Prisen could be your road to achieving both things.
Now, ’FEP’ has been an annual thing since 2013, and has seen competitors such as Scarlet Pleasure, Northern Assembly, Pala, Sundays, Nicotine Nerves, Sonja Hald, Velvet Volume, and last year’s winner Kajsa Vala, and several others. Some contesters have been signed during playing Fatter Eskil Prisen, such as Scarlet Pleasure, and several after, such as Northern Assembly. But for all the 16 chosen bands it’ll mean a chance to perform at least one job at an often full Fatter Eskil, and – just as important – in front of a competent jury, that’ll provide the band with feedback if wanted. At FEP, it is the jury that decides who’s through to the next round, and who goes on to be the winner.
Last year’s final saw jury members from NorthSide, SPOT Festival, HeadQuarters, DMF, Skandinavian, Tapetown, and Sound of Aarhus give the title to Kajsa Vala, who was up against Nicotine Nerves, Samzara, and Oliver Dengsø.
This year’s main prizes are 25,000 DKK sponsored by Tak Rock!, and a chance to perform at LiveCamp 2018, which also means a chance to open the legendary ‘Bøgescenerne’ at Smukfest.
