The festival season has reached that part, where the bigger festivals (Roskilde, NorthSide, Smukfest etc.) seem long gone. We’re back at work, or studying, or whatever it is you do. But, thankfully, it’s also that part of the festival season that leaves space for the one-day events celebrating the Danish upcoming scene. One of them is just about to take place, only 8 days away, Oppenheimer will present a line-up containing five talented bands at their 2017 version of the festival.
On the stage at Radar you’ll have the pleasure of getting to know SILQUE, and if you already do know them, you’ll be able to scream along to their songs. Speaking of, today marks the day of the release of their new single ‘Hey Brother’ that comes with a beautifully crafted video. It’s retro-rock butter spread out on nostalgia-bread, and it’s impossible to fight the urge to sing along, or not keep stamping that one foot on the ground as if you’re magically a part of the drums being played. The video is made up of fans singing the song, and you might even end up seeing yourself as one of them.
With the release of ‘Hey Brother’ comes the news on their forthcoming debut album, Gloria. All the tracks are formed in VibeFactory, Copenhagen, but the final versions of the songs are made in the legendary Abbey Road studio in London, with a little help from producer Alex Wharton (Radiohead, Pixies, Paul McCartney).
Give this new video and song a spin, and go on and buy your ticket to Oppenheimer Festival. The line-up also includes our good friends from SUNDAYS, Peppermint B, MONTI, and Turquoise Sun.
