They’re kind of difficult to describe, the good guys from Pacific Swell, but here goes. I’ve heard stories on adventurous band members travelling all over the world, and borrowing instruments from their good friends from Tin Can Telescope, whenever they’re about to play. Their music can best be described as the meeting between surfing in California and smoking cigarettes in a western movie. And their live presence is both entertaining, present and informal. Front figure Adam Peleg is an absolute pleasure to watch and listen to.
That’s the small, not at all precise introduction to this very interesting band from Grenaa. And to be honest, the description of Pacific Swell should unfold itself when in the presence of them, preferably live. Here you’ll have these four enthusiastic and happy men – in uniforms – in front of you, expressing a pure joy of being on stage. One (or two) might find their way of doing things a tiny bit too informal, or maybe even take it as if its all a joke to them. It’s not, though, and the prove comes with this cool “western” of a music video, that we’re been given the pleasure of premiering.
I pretty much think, that ‘Man Horse’ – both video and song – sums up, who Pacific Swell really is. Here you’ll get to follow Adam Peleg, dressed as a character in a western movie, both at horse and at a bar, on what could look like a serious bender, while the music is pretty much setting the tone of our main character’s feelings. It’s not easy being a travelling “cowboy” with stories to tell, in a world of scooters, e-cigarettes, spandex, and virtual reality.
Check out ‘Man Horse’ right here, and remember to catch them live when you get the chance.
