Once again, our small country has provided us with a new brilliant song. Meet John Alcabean, one of the most promising young bands in Danish indie-rock music. The Copenhagen-based three-piece just dropped ‘Need Comfort’ today– their new single and video, and we are proud to exclusively premiere it via SoundOfAarhus.
The young band consists of Daniel (drums), and the brothers Victor (lead singer & guitar) and Julius (bass), all hailing from North Zealand. Musically, their sound draws on several influences within the genres of indie rock, pop, alternative rock, and post-punk, making a mix so contagious that you cannot stop pressing the replay button. Imagine the secret kid who is the result of a one-night stand between the music of the 90s and the 00s. Think Slaughter Beach and the likes.
Maybe you have already seen them live in Aarhus, as they have performed on several occasions at both Fatter Eskil, NyV58, and last week at HeadQuarters; the guys have literally been driving back and forth between Zealand and Jutland, sleeping on couches in order to perform as much as possible in our lovely city.
If you like their new single and video, featured below, remember to follow the band on facebook, so you can get news before the release of their forthcoming debut album, and their support gig for Dance With Dirt at Fatter Eskil on April 9 – see more here. Their debut album is expected to hit the world wide web on April 11.
