Tomorrow evening the local venue Train will host the West-finals in this years Emergenza.
For some time now, talented and hopeful musicians have been competing in this years Emergenza Festival. In Copenhagen, Odense and here in Aarhus there have been first rounds and semi-finals where these young talents stood on stages usually meant for bigger stars. Now, we’ve reached the regional finals!
The first regional final took place on Posten in Odense where the reggae/hip-hoppers from Boondigrash secured a place in the national final taking place at Vega in Copenhagen.
Tomorrow night 11 local acts will walk on stage and perform with everything they’ve got to take first place and join Boondigrash in the final.
The difference between the semi-finals and the regional finals is that this time a jury will decide who takes first place, and moves on to the national final.
We’ve already secured our tickets, and we can’t wait to see these 11 bands perform. As a warm up we would like to recommend some of the bands we expect a lot from.
The local jazz/hip-hoppers really convinced the audience at the third semi-final rounds here in Aarhus. Here they had proved that these guys have got something special, and they really deserve to be in the final.
Total Hip Replacement:
These guys somehow combine Funk, rock, reggae and hip-hop! Behind the band you find 5 talented musicians that just recently created this band. Total Hip Replacement differs with having three front singers and no rules!
From the streets of Aarhus comes this remarkable band Rakkerpak. At this very moment there is a growing underground-vibe around them, and they’ve recently been playing several gigs – including a performance at last weekends Mejlgade for Diversity. At the semi-finals they secured their way to the regional final through a 4th place, but they’ll come back strong in the final.
Even though these guys finished second in their semi-final round, behind Eftersmag, these guys are our favorites. After seeing them at both Emergenza and SPOT Festival we here at Sound Of Aarhus have become big fans of these young guys. They’ll definitely turn Train in to a huge party!
Even though it is the jury who decide, you can probably still influence the decision. Show up and support the ones you feel deserve it, and help the band(s) by creating an atmosphere the jury will notice!
