It has been a long summer, where the festivals took over and the local venues has been completely empty. Now we’re back, and the first concert is really, really exiting!
The american band Deafheaven was started in 2010, in San Francisco, and only a year after they released their debut album – Roads to Judah, but it was with their second album (Sunbather) that they really achieved a breakthrough.
If you haven’t heard their music before, this is going to sound pretty weird, but they play a mixture of shoegaze and black metal! I’m a shoegaze fan, but I’ve never been the biggest black metal fan – however, after listening to Sunbather, I’m completely sold.
I’ve never experienced these guys live before, but I got this idea that it will be funny, grand and weird experience – and a chance to experience a unique sound.
The support band is the local metal talents Sunken, who’ll be releasing their debut album late 2014/early 2015.
Give Deafheaven a listen below, and I’ll see you at Voxhall at 20.00
