The Aarhus-based garagerockers from Captain Casanova have unveiled a music video for new track ‘Futures’. Even though the local band has not released much music, they have already toured all over Europe and captivated people from places far outside of their native Aarhus area. In other words, this kickass outfit has performed more than 150 shows in places such as Germany, Holland, France, Switzerland, and Italy with only one (!) official single release – until now.
According to lead singer and guitarist, Rasmus Bredvig, new track ‘Futures’ is written as a goodbye message to the son of his former girlfriend. After a breakup, the loss of a son resulted in late night hours and a desire to put this frustration on paper and accompany the lyrics with a raw and unpolished guitar riff. The result is this new rather sad and touching track, focused on the naïve and childish in all of us; thinking something will last forever. Fans of Nirvana and 90s grunge-rock-alternative will not only love it but will also really like their forthcoming releases.
Stepping away from the brighter, more pure from the last official Captain Casanova video from 2013 (link), the video for ‘Futures’ is more raw and conservative, where the trio is unafraid to show a more vulnerable and personal side to illustrate the track’s thematic content. By converting old VHS tapes into the digital age, Rasmus Bredvig has created a video that includes clips from old personal home videos, mainly featuring Rasmus and his two sisters, occasionally interrupted by newer recordings of the trio using the snowy Danish winter landscape as a low-budget theme park.
Currently, Captain Casanova is touring in Germany, Belgium, and Holland with their new single. It seems like they love the Aarhus-based band – check photos from Holland here. Whereas most people try gaining their breakthrough via social medias, these guys simply pack the van and head south – month after month after month. They are indeed the definition of hard-working musicians. After summer, they are planning on visiting the UK and tour Europe again, besides releasing new material and videos not yet official scheduled.
In June, you can experience Captain Casanova at Kulisselageret in Horsens, but before that, remember to follow them on social medias so you can follow their constant tour-life.
