What better way to ring in Halloween than with a big show from Canadian psych-metal rockers, Black Mountain.
Unfortunately however for the band, they were robbed last week after a show in Stockholm, having the bulk of their gear stolen. This is obviously the worst case scenario for any band on tour, especially on a totally different continent. Instead of canceling or postponing their scheduled shows, the band called out to fans and friends along the way to replace the gear – as close enough to what they lost as possible – and continue on. The band posted a list of stuff they needed to continue on social media, asking local musicians to jump in and help out on their tour stops. An inside source tells me that they’re pretty much sorted though for Aarhus, and at the time of writing this, they were only missing a wah-wah pedal – and had a lead on where to grab one in the city of smiles.
Despite the frustration of having their gear snaked in Sweden, they’ve reportedly been “blowing the lid off” every show over here in Europe. In an interview for Voxhall, we were told to bring earplugs, it might get fucking loud (If you need a set of disposable earplugs, the venue has some for sale behind the bar).
Black Mountain are touring in support of their fantastic new record, IV, and of course tonight is Halloween – and unless you’re dressing up as a psycho clown, I’m sure a little fancy dress will make our Canadian guests feel a little more at home in Aarhus.
Tickets are still available tonight for 200 DKK from Voxhall’s website, Doors are at 19:00.
