First of all, I gotta say, that I’m extremely pleased with the amount of quality offers we’ve got in Aarhus during ’Festuge’. A few years back, I mentioned in a bigger paper, that I was a bit disappointed with the number of beer tents compared to the amount of cultural events taking place. Rikke Øxner and her colleagues at Aarhus Festuge really did well in creating a line-up and program with concerts for everyone, and it seems like there’s no time for standing in beer tents.
The only thing is, though, and I’m a bit afraid of sounding like ‘nothing is ever good enough’, that the amount of events shared on Facebook is almost too much. It’s an event-jungle, and I really hope that events such as UJAZZ won’t be overlooked or even forgotten. The same goes for the event this article is all about; Mogwai at Rådhushallen .
Now, these Scottish post-rock legends are one of my favorite bands, the same goes for a lot of people I know, and I’m sure that a lot of people would go – even at a ticket price on 175 – 225 DKK. I’m actually convinced, that Aarhus could fill up Rådhushallen any day and enjoy this special event, where Mogwai will go through the Atomic-album, while the film Atomic: Living in Dread and Promise will be played.
Sounds like a pretty f***ing nice way to spent an evening, right? What I’ve experienced, though, is the two following points; 1) a Facebook event that way too few have seen, and 2) people I know, who loves Mogwai, doesn’t know that this concert exists. It’s about time we change that.
I’m hoping that a lot of people have been using the website in stead and that tickets are actually being sold – if not, let’s help them promote this one, shall we?
We’ll see you at Rådhushallen on the 1st of September.
