In Aarhus, it’s obvious that Karl William doesn’t need any big introduction. This was clear when the audience gave him a huge applause with screams and claps as he entered the stage with his band.
”Today, we just want to play a lot of new tracks, but time is short and the music is great, so we have to move fast… Let’s go!”
Karl William played a mix of slow RnB and upbeat but more pop-ish tracks this time. A bit different from the first time we saw him in Lille Sal in Musikhuset two years ago.
Karl William was much more relaxed at this performance, and moved around rhythmically, dancing across the stage – and people were clearly noticing his comfortable presence.
The climax of his performance was clearly when he played ‘Placebo’ from his new album. At first people were waiting expectantly for something more to happen, but when Karl William’s amazing vocals sounded ‘goose bumpingly’ through the room, making the walls vibrate, it built up the reaction to the upcoming chorus. What an atmospehere!
Two guys in the left side of the room jumped up from their seats and suddenly started dancing. Then a wave of other people stood up, and started dancing and jumping loosely to the RnB sounds. And Karl William smilingly said how much he loved to see a standing audience in Store Sal. “I hoped for it, but did not expect this… You guys are awesome!”
Even though he only played new tracks, his performance was goosebumpingly outstanding. What more can I say…
